Unit Commissioners Help Units Succeed
Unit Com missioners are experienced district volunteers who coach and consult with the adult leaders of every Scouting unit. Commissioners help maintain the standards of the Boy Scouts of America. They also oversee the unit charter renewal plan so that each unit reregisters on time with an optimum number of youth and adult members. This will become especially import this year as we convert our recharter process to the new Internet Recharter process being provided by the B.S.A. The Unit Commissioner plays several roles, including friend, representative, unit "doctor," teacher, and counselor. Every pack, troop, team and crew should by contacted monthly by its Commissioner. Has your unit taken advantage of the expertise and experience offered by a Unit Commissioner recently? For more information, contact your District Commissioner, Greg Gores.
